Day 1

I've just arrived in "Heron Mura" or Heron Village via train. When the game starts off you are greeted by a cat I'm not familiar with but I know has made appearances in many of the games. (I was a Animal Crossing Wild World fanatic). He asks you the usual, your name, your face forming question. The main difference though is he pulls out a map and asks you if this is your town. You may keep telling him it's not your town and he will choose a different map and ask you again. This basically allows you to scroll through random town layouts until you discover one you like. A new and very fun feature!
WELCOME TO HERON!!! Your new townies will be waiting for you at the train station. They think you are the new mayor as you're the only one on the train, and you PROMISED you were coming today! But of course you don't know what they're talking about. Even though you had only planned to move the job of mayor is laid on you like a ton of brick. SURPRISE!!
Now it's time to head to town hall with your new doggie friend, Suzue. She's a bit of a scatter brain (That's probably why she thinks you're supposed to be the mayor, but she's your assistant, and she'll help you hell or high water. Even if it's all a little wrong. She lets you know that she's looking forward to your services and your vision for the town. The former mayor was a bit .......elderly. See how she's screaming "OH NO!" That's her realizing that the town forgot to get my home set up. (Told you she's a scatter brain). You know what THAT means. Time to go to good old Tom Nook's (Slumlord of Animal Crossing) and get myself a house.
(Welcome to my store)
Mr. Nook and I walking around town deciding where to put my house.
On the hunt for a plot I found a Mushroom Cabinet.
"Ta-dah! I'll lend you this tent. You can stay here."
I enter my new make-shift home and put down my first piece of furniture. Now I have to be off to meet the townies to my welcome ceremony.
I plant a tree in the center square and I'm officially welcomed as MAYOR!!! Let the free wheeling adventures begin!!! So concludes the opening "tasks". Now on to the shops.
First I head to the beach to pick up some shells for fast cash. The shells don't come back instantly like in past versions. You actually have to wait a pretty decent amount of time for them to be replenished. Then I head to the recycle shop and meet Lisa the Alpaca to sell my shells. "Sorry to keep you waiting." I sell off my shells for a couple thousand bells. I find her husband fast asleep in the back of the shop.
Time to cross the tracks and head to the shopping district!!!
I visit Tom Nooks old digs to pick up a net and a shovel to make some extra cash.
Off to pick out some new threads.
I visited the new accessory store to buy a bandanna. There are a lot of shopping areas that haven't opened up yet. I can see there is a place for the shoe shine guy. Shampoodles and the new shoe store and plant store, nor have Redd's been opened yet, but you can see the store fronts are are there. Just no signs. I assume they will open up as I continue to invest cash in the current stores. There's also no cafe yet. I did however catch a new bug, a caterpillar chrysalis. Also, the bee hives that fall out of the trees can be picked up and sold after. Another new feature, when you open the menu the bees coming after you freeze in place, they don't advance and hover around your head. It gives you WAY more time to pull out your net and turn around. That being said I got stung 5 times.
At the end of my game time today I get the 10,000 bells together to pay off the construction fees. Tomorrow my tent will be a real house!! YAY
