The Little Differences from past versions
So far there have been many differences between Wild World and Tobidase. Some are small. Some are very big. So lets start with the small and work our way up.
First up is that the number of villagers have increased. I now have 9 and counting. Second villagers can be seen in shops, you can encourage them to buy or not buy items. They can also be found shaking trees and looking exasperated when nothing falls out. You can also find them fishing in the river.
(A new Townie's house in the making. You have no control of when or where they pop up. But new features are unlocked everyday and you can change the laws of the town, so I suspect in the future you might be able to......if you can afford the hefty price to change the town rules. )

Another small but convenient thing is when donating to Hooter, you can donate many items at once, skipping his speech about the origins of the bug/ fossil etc. Statuary can also be donated that you buy from Red. And items that have previously been donated cannot be selected when donating items, saving you the time of Hooter telling you that you've already given him that bug/ fish/ etc.
(This is a wig in the game. Shampoodles hasn't opened yet)
( Whoops in I go. )
(I've discovered a sapphire.)
Instead of 2 fossils a day and gyroids, you can find 4 fossils every day. I have yet to dig up a gyroid. But pitfall seeds are back. Also you can break open a rock every few days or so to find a jewel inside of all different kinds. I've found no purpose for those except selling them. I've found a ruby and a sapphire so far.
Following me home for a visit.
"Wow that was fun. Thanks for letting me take a look. I'm off to home now."
Animals can come to your house as they did in previous versions, but sometimes they'll demand to come on the spot, and they will walk with you to your house. Sometimes they'll invite you over to their house and allow to you purchase one item in their home. Much like the flea market though, not everything is for sale. Either way, if you give their house a good rating or have them over you'll find a thank you gift in the mail the next day.
Fruit and flowers are back. But now we have orchids, lemons and mango. These can be had on the island and brought back. (More on the island next post)Also, occasionally normal fruit but a different color will pop up on trees. They are labeled to be especially delicious.
(Mango trees and exotic flowers on "East Island".)
Lastly, your storage in drawers etc have been increased. You get 3 sets of 6 storage compartment. I use section A for furnature, B for clothing and C is still empty. It'll probably store rugs and wallpaper when a shop opens that sells them. They are currently not sold at Nook's.
Stay tuned Monday for the big differences in the game. Thanks for reading.

Day 1
I've just arrived in "Heron Mura" or Heron Village via train. When the game starts off you are greeted by a cat I'm not familiar with but I know has made appearances in many of the games. (I was a Animal Crossing Wild World fanatic). He asks you the usual, your name, your face forming question. The main difference though is he pulls out a map and asks you if this is your town. You may keep telling him it's not your town and he will choose a different map and ask you again. This basically allows you to scroll through random town layouts until you discover one you like. A new and very fun feature!
WELCOME TO HERON!!! Your new townies will be waiting for you at the train station. They think you are the new mayor as you're the only one on the train, and you PROMISED you were coming today! But of course you don't know what they're talking about. Even though you had only planned to move the job of mayor is laid on you like a ton of brick. SURPRISE!!
Now it's time to head to town hall with your new doggie friend, Suzue. She's a bit of a scatter brain (That's probably why she thinks you're supposed to be the mayor, but she's your assistant, and she'll help you hell or high water. Even if it's all a little wrong.
She lets you know that she's looking forward to your services and your vision for the town. The former mayor was a bit .......elderly.
See how she's screaming "OH NO!" That's her realizing that the town forgot to get my home set up. (Told you she's a scatter brain). You know what THAT means. Time to go to good old Tom Nook's (Slumlord of Animal Crossing) and get myself a house.
(Welcome to my store)
Mr. Nook and I walking around town deciding where to put my house.
On the hunt for a plot I found a Mushroom Cabinet.
"Ta-dah! I'll lend you this tent. You can stay here."
I enter my new make-shift home and put down my first piece of furniture. Now I have to be off to meet the townies to my welcome ceremony.
I plant a tree in the center square and I'm officially welcomed as MAYOR!!! Let the free wheeling adventures begin!!!
So concludes the opening "tasks".
Now on to the shops.
First I head to the beach to pick up some shells for fast cash. The shells don't come back instantly like in past versions. You actually have to wait a pretty decent amount of time for them to be replenished.
Then I head to the recycle shop and meet Lisa the Alpaca to sell my shells. "Sorry to keep you waiting." I sell off my shells for a couple thousand bells. I find her husband fast asleep in the back of the shop.
Time to cross the tracks and head to the shopping district!!!
I visit Tom Nooks old digs to pick up a net and a shovel to make some extra cash.
Off to pick out some new threads.
I visited the new accessory store to buy a bandanna.
There are a lot of shopping areas that haven't opened up yet. I can see there is a place for the shoe shine guy. Shampoodles and the new shoe store and plant store, nor have Redd's been opened yet, but you can see the store fronts are are there. Just no signs. I assume they will open up as I continue to invest cash in the current stores.
There's also no cafe yet. I did however catch a new bug, a caterpillar chrysalis. Also, the bee hives that fall out of the trees can be picked up and sold after. Another new feature, when you open the menu the bees coming after you freeze in place, they don't advance and hover around your head. It gives you WAY more time to pull out your net and turn around. That being said I got stung 5 times.
At the end of my game time today I get the 10,000 bells together to pay off the construction fees. Tomorrow my tent will be a real house!! YAY
Mission Statement
For all of you who are currently awaiting the elusive arrival of Animal Crossing: New Leaf, I'll be keeping a blog of my adventures navigating the Japanese version that released yesterday, Tobudase! Doubutsu no Mori. Along with description of new and old features I will also try my best to post pictures as well. I hope you enjoy my blog and it helps with the wait.
